Sensory and/or Physical needs

My child has sensory and/or physical needs.

This section covers students who have difficulties with:

  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Gross motor co-ordination
  • Fine motor co-ordination
  • Self-organisation for daily living
  • It includes conditions such as cerebral palsy, physical injury, dyspraxia

  • Visual aids to support key vocabulary, concepts and themes.
  • Quality first teaching that provides appropriate and effective differentiation for every child
  • Access to assessment for identification of significant needs.
  • 1 to 1 Learning Assistant support for identified children
  • School adheres to guidelines on physical access
  • Consultation with Teachers, Pupils and Parents in developing an identified child's learning support
  • Consultation with experts from outside agencies e.g. Educational Psychologists
  • Digital technology (IPADS, Learn Pads, Desktop and Laptop PCs) that allows children to access the mainstream curriculum in alternative ways
